We came to Market Street Café specifically to try the famous oxtail soup, and it definitely lived up to the hype. We did have about an hour-long wait, but once we were seated, everything moved quickly. Our order was taken right away, and soon enough we had our soup and a burger on the table. The oxtail soup was delicious. The meat fell right off the bone, and the broth was rich and full of flavor. I personally would have loved it to be hotter, since it came out more on the lukewarm side. I’m not sure if that’s intentional because they’re so busy and want to keep things moving, but either way, the flavor was incredible. The burger, on the other hand, was just okay and nothing particularly special. The service was wonderful, and the ambiance was great. The place was filled with so many local Hawaiian families that it made the experience feel even more authentic. Overall, worth the visit for the oxtail soup alone!
Since 1975, this 24-hour diner has catered to Hawaiian travelers and longtime locals, helping downtown Vegas earn the nickname “the Ninth Island.” It’s known for island-style comfort food like loco moco, Spam and eggs, fried gyoza, and its most famous dish—oxtail soup.
Have to order what’s right for you. Have been here a few times over last few years. Went for breakfast recently, pancakes were good, they are open 24 hours so good place to go for breakfast for those of us on east coast time. In past have gotten the prime rib special, it was good. Got a Hawaii noodle dish (forget name) that I did not like, was a bit greasy.
This place is a 24h Hawaiian Restaurant. I came here with a group to try the famous oxtail soup (served 11pm- 6am). There is a wait time so be prepared. The oxtail soup broth was flavorful and the portion size was moderate with lots of fall-off-da bone oxtail. I couldn't finish the whole thing, so I took it to-go and it actually tastes better the next day when reheated. The atmosphere and service was average (not the same aloha spirit-I guess just food inspired). For drinks they stated that we had to order from the casino servers not at the restaurant, which was inconvenient, especially if you want a Hawaiian Sun juice with your meal. I wanted to their butterfish, but maybe next time when it is available.
My parents LOVE coming here for the oxtail soup, so they brought me and other relatives here. We came here twice to enjoy the oxtail soup before we left! Cassandra, the supervisor, and Viola, a waitress, were awesome!!
Went there around 3-4am, and waited for 45 minutes before getting in. But didn't regret the decision to go. Ox tail soup was amazing, it was a huge serving and very flavorful. What surprised me was their steak, I would say this is probably the best steak I've ever had. The steak was dark brown on the outside with grill marks and tender, and juicy on the inside. Highly recommend this place at all times ( Because they are open 24/7!!!)
love this place. oxtail is always the go to. i also get the american breakfast on the side. our friends gave us their meal tickets such a steal so i ate here multiple times a day. love it
